
The Centre for Media and Information Literacy and Climate Change Action is thrilled to announce the official launch of its Quarter 2 (Q2) programs, designed to build capacity in media and information literacy (MIL) and promotion of climate change awareness and action. This quarter’s programs are set to reach across some secondary schools, communities, and tertiary institutions in Zaria, Kaduna State.
As the world grapples with the dual challenges of disinformation and climate change, our Centre remains committed to equipping young people and communities with the tools to critically engage with information, and also driving localized climate action. Our Q2 initiative continues this mission with a broader reach and engagement to the different set of communities that includes the following:
Secondary Schools:

The focus is to host a series of interactive workshops on:
Media literacy and how to identify misinformation
Understanding climate change at the local level
Practical steps students can take to become future leaders.

Community clean-up exercises
Capacity-building sessions on responsible media use and environmental sustainability

Participants in our Q2 programs will:
Learn how to critically evaluate media messages and digital content
Understand the science and social impact of climate change
Gain hands-on experience through environmental projects and advocacy
Become ambassadors for MIL and climate action within their schools and communities
